Granite signing codes

Granite signing codes is the name of our text message program. Apart from the HELP and STOP replies below, the only message we send you is a short code, which you type in to open your own documents and to sign them. We never text you about a product.

There are two automatic replies as well, and they come back only when you write to us first: one if you reply HELP, and one if you reply STOP. Both are set out below.

What you will receive

Your adviser emails you a private link to your own page. On that page is a button reading Text me my code. No code is sent until you press it.

When you press it, we text you a four-digit code. You type the code in and the page opens, so that you can read your documents and sign them. The code lasts ten minutes and works once. A message reads:

Granite: your code is 4729. It expires in 10 minutes. Do not share it. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out.

How often

One message for each code you ask for. Press the button again and you get another message. We send nothing on a schedule, and we never text you about a product.

Message and data rates may apply

Your own phone company may charge you for the message. That is between you and them, and it depends on your plan. Granite does not charge you anything for these messages.

How your number was given to us

Your own adviser asks you for your mobile number, in a meeting or on the telephone, and writes it on your record. They tell you at the time that it is for the codes.

Granite works behind your own adviser’s firm, as a sub-adviser to it. Your agreement is with that firm and not with us, and it stays that way. We send the codes on their behalf.

We use your number for the codes and for the two automatic replies, and for nothing else. We never sell your mobile number, and we never share it — or the record that you agreed to receive the codes — for advertising or marketing. Not with another company, and not with any company connected to us.

HELP — if you are stuck

Reply HELP to one of our messages and you will get a short reply naming the program and how to reach us. You can also call or email us directly, any time:

STOP — if you want them to end

Reply STOP to any of our messages. We send one last message confirming it, and then nothing more.

If you change your mind, reply START from the same phone. That is the only thing that turns the messages back on — your adviser cannot do it for you, and neither can we.

If you stop the messages you can still open and sign your documents. Ask your adviser, who will arrange it another way.

Who carries the message

Twilio, a messaging company, delivers the text for us. They hold a record that the message was sent, as any phone company would.

Twilio also uses those records for their own narrow purposes: keeping their network safe, stopping abuse of it, and answering the law where they must. They do not sell your number and they do not use it to advertise to you.

Carriers are not liable for any delayed or undelivered messages. In plain words: your phone company does not have to make a text arrive, and a code can be late or go missing. If one does not arrive, press the button again, or call us on 949-556-5556 and we will help.

What this website records is a separate matter and is set out on our Privacy page. Any question about the messages goes to Contact Us, and we will answer it.
